The Association was conceived in 1991, when it became apparent that many exciting opportunities and developments were taking place in the field of cultural and eco-tourism, in isolation of each other.
A core group of people then came together to establish FACET to advise on and promote sustainable tourism to government and industry involved in this new growth area.
Our membership is diverse and is drawn from the tourism sector, academe, government agencies, cultural, ecological and scientific institutions, the general public; i.e. anyone with an interest in the field.
